Visual Studio.NET
My favorite Microsoft computer programming language is C#. I also like ASP.NET. I am
finding that the classes between C# and VB are the same now, whereas a few years ago,
one language would have some capabilities that the other did not have. Since Microsoft
has formed the previously divided development teams into one unit, they have seen fit to
also ensure that we have every capability in each language. Silverlight is a pretty cool
tool also. The XAML language is not that difficult to learn.
I have recently been assisting a friend of mine who years ago had dabbled a bit in
Turbo Pascal and a few of the earlier languages. He now wants to learn how to develop
web sites. I started him out using a book called Sams Teach Yourself "Learn
HTML and CSS in 24 Hours". I hope to aim him toward Microsoft C# or VB, and
also ColdFusion. Did I just say "ColdFusion" on a Microsoft ASP.NET web page? Yes, I
did. Hey, if a tool is good and works well, why not? ColdFusion is a fantastic web
development tool. Check out Adobe's ColdFusion 9 here:
