The above document shows that Peter Isaac Champenois and Drusilla Pipkins (or Tipkins)
were divorced on 29 May 1844 in the County of Mobile, the State of Alabama. I attempted to
transcribe as best as I could precisely what the document states. We appear to see that
Peter Isaac Champenois and Drusilla Pipkins were divorced in 1844. The quandry we are in
is that we thought Peter died in 1842. This is our dilemma. We have not found
Peter Isaac Champenois' burial site, nor that of Drusilla [Pipkins] Champenois. Another
problem now exists. We thought that Drusilla's last name was "Pipkins". Her surname may
actually be "Tipkins".
